The world class sculptors have created for all visitors works of art which will be a memorable PEI experience. In keeping with this years theme \"Living by the Sea\" NFL has been creating memorable experiences on the sea since 1941\".
Over 20 amazing sand sculptures will depict Island life, enchanting visitors with stories of the Yankee Gale, coastal lighthouses, the history of rum running, the harvesting of Irish moss and more. Returning for their second year and best known for their work at the Jack Frost Children\'s WinterFest, Canada\'s own World Champion Sand Sculptors have created the largest sand show east of British Columbia. A popular attraction for Islanders and visitors, over 32,000 people enjoyed a visited SandLand in its first year.
\"The sculptures are made entirely of sand and water,\" says Kim Green, CEO Tourism of Charlottetown. \"Local laborers built forms, which were then filled with sand and water, tampered and left to harden. The forms were then removed and the red sand was sculpted into stories of Prince Edward Island. It is truly a work of art.\"
For those wanting to learn more about sand sculpting, demos will be offered daily throughout the summer by Lin Donovan and Heidi Waterman. Sand sculpting demos will be offered daily at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

About SandLand
Over 32,000 people visited SandLand in 2007, surpassing the forecasted attendance of 15,000 people. The attraction features over 20 Sand Sculptures made from 100% red Island sand. Each sculpture represents a different Prince Edward Island story. SandLand is sponsored by Northumberland Ferries. SandLand is located directly beside The Charlottetown Visitor Centre at Founders\' Hall, 6 Prince Street, Historic Charlottetown Waterfront. Tickets can be purchased inside the Visitor Centre at the Admissions Desk or at the entrance to SandLand.
