at SandLand presented by Northumberland Ferries! This summer, SandLand returns to
the Historic Charlottetown Waterfront with the theme \"Living by the Sea\". SandLand
will open to the public on Saturday, June 28th at 10am as part of the Atlantic

Don Cormier, Vice President of Operations & Safety Management at Northumberland
Ferries Ltd. states, \"Northumberland Ferries Ltd. is pleased to again be sponsoring
this wonderful family event. The world class sculptors have created for all

Over 20 amazing sand sculptures will depict Island life, enchanting visitors with
stories of the Yankee Gale, coastal lighthouses, the history of rum running, the
harvesting of Irish moss and more. Returning for their second year and best known
for their work at the Jack Frost Children\'s

show east of British Columbia. A popular attraction for Islanders and visitors, over
32,000 people enjoyed a visited SandLand in its first year.

\"The sculptures are made entirely of sand and water,\" says Kim Green, CEO Tourism of
Charlottetown. \"Local laborers built forms, which were then filled with sand and
water, tampered and left to harden. The forms were then removed and the red sand
was sculpted into stories of Prince Edward Island. It is truly a work of art.\"

For those wanting to learn more about sand sculpting, demos will be offered daily
throughout the summer by Lin Donovan and Heidi Waterman. Sand sculpting demos will
be offered daily at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
